تفوق عصام يوسف في هذه الرواية على تحفته الأولى ربع جرام في العديد من الأبعاد، من المؤكد أن سببها الرئيسي هو الخبرة واهتمامه المطلق بأدق تفاصيل أعماله. أحد تلك الأبعاد هو الاهتمام ببناء صورة كاملة عن شخصيات الرواية بشكل قوي وواضح، حتى ولو من خلال تعبيرات بسيطة أو أفعال هامشية تقوم بها تلك لشخصيات، وتساعد تلك الصورة القراء على فهم الشخصيات جيدا ودوافعها، بل و أحيانا توقع تصرفاتها حيال مواقف محددة، ولكن بشكل لا يجعل الرواية متوقعة أو بسيطة، وانما بصورة تجعلك تتفهم مواقف تلك الشخصيات المختلفة…
