هذا الكتاب الذي لا غنى عنه في أي مكتبة يتناول بالدراسة أهم مواجهة بين العرب والعدو الإسرائيلي. فيشرح جميع المعارك بين القوات المسلحة المصرية والقوات الإسرائيلية من 6 إلى 10 أكتوبر 1973، وأسرار التخطيط، وأسلوب الإدارة، وتحركات مسرح العمليات، والمواقف الدولية. ومن خلال تحليل موضوعي يستند إلى الوقائع الميدانية ومبادئ العلوم العسكرية، يُظهر المؤلف البطولات العسكرية لأفراد الجيش المصري – من دون أن يُخفي الجوانب السلبية في التخطيط والإدارة والتدخلات السياسية. الهدف من هذه الدراسة ليس إلقاء التهم، بل الخروج بدروس ومواقف تصلح لإضاءة الفكر العسكري لقادتنا في الأجيال القادمة. عن المؤلف: الفريق أول محمد فوزي (1915-2000) قائد حربي فَذ، وصاحب تجربة لن تتكرر في التاريخ العسكري المصري. تخرج على يديه الآلاف من ضباط الجيش المصري عندما كان مديرًا للكلية الحربية، كما عينه الرئيس عبد الناصر قائدًا عامًّا للجيش المصري ووزيرًا للحربية، وكلفه بإعادة تنظيم القوات المسلحة وتجهيزها وتدريبها بعد حرب يونيو 1967، فسبب ضغطًا هائلًا وخسائر مستمرة وجسيمة للعدو خلال حرب الاستنزاف (1969-1971)، وأعاد بناء الجيش الذي استطاع أن ينتصر في 1973.
